I was pleased to discover that I can use the text function for words/names that previously required opening a symbol dialog box or using the copy/paste method, such as: Rónán, Márgrég, etc.  It works with Word, WordPerfect, all my .rtf and .txt apps but it doesn't work where I need it most, a writer's program called PowerWriter. I'm hoping someone might know why and if there is some type of work around. I don't really want to start searching for another application to use for this one function.

Thanks.

Text functions work by copying text from a text file and then pasting it into the application you are using.  Are you allowed to paste text in that specific text field in PowerWriter?

Hey thanks for answering. I haven't checked back for a while. I was checking things out with the other application trying to see if the problem originates with it. I still don't know but things are looking up.  Now Keybreeze is sometimes able to paste into the other program, but it accepts only certain words/names. For instance, it seems to like "Rónán" but not "Ailéann".  I can use any word at all in other applications. So - I'm thinking it is just one of those funny glitches like having to change the keyword to get some applications to open.
