I've been having this problem for months and now that I've installed Keybreeze on my new PC it's still happening.   Windows XP.

About 3 mornings out of 4 on startup I get that Keybreeze wizard asking me which Browser + what hot key etc.

So I disabled "Start KB on Startup".   Yet when I open the program I still get the wizard. I'm even toying with the idea of finding another macro program and writing a macro to process my responses.

I don't know how many other users are having the same problem, but I'm wondering if - in a future version - you couldn't get rid of the wizard completely - or make it "run once and never again" or at least enable users to disable it.

I'm posting this on the forum in case someone else has any brighter ideas!

The wizard is supposed to run only the first time you load Keybreeze after installing it.  Once you complete the wizard, Keybreeze writes a setting to the options.ini file (located in %appdata%\keybreeze data) so the wizard will not pop up again.  I think what is happening is that Windows is preventing Keybreeze from writing to the options.ini file.  Do you have both read and write access to the keybreeze data folder?  You can find out by pressing the hotkey and typing application data as a keyword.  Open the keybreeze data folder, and try creating a new text file, add text to it, save it, and then delete the file.  Does Windows prevent any of this from happening?

Thanks Andrew,
No. I can create, edit and save files in my Keybreeze Data folder.  I might mention that the problem only seems to occur when the last time I shut down my PC - usually by typing "shutdown" in keybreeze - I get that Windows message saying something like "system is waiting for Keybreeze to end" (I then either press Terminate or Cancel and the system shuts down.
Just let me know if you want me to email you any of my configuration files.
Thanks again for your help.  Does anyone else have this problem?HuhHuh??

Hi Andrew

Years later, I still have this problem.  The wizard runs on my XP machines each time a Windows Update download has completed.  Have you had any thoughts on this recently?

I'm running Win7 64 as normal user and Keybreeze used to run startup wizard every time when I started Keybreeze. There is some problem when Keybreeze tries to write options file when you are not using an admin account. And the "Run as Administrator"-feature does not help.

So I uninstalled Keybreeze, changed my Windows account type to Administrator, installed Keybreeze again and ran it few times. Then just changed account type back to normal user.

I seem to have finally succeeded in solving this problem.  I uninstalled my version of Keybreeze Pro and installed the open source version (3.6 I think).  And everything seems to be OK now.
