Say I dont want it to search  Drive C:    or Drive D:   and definately not my start menu.  say I Only want it to search  D:\mydesktop     and D:\mydocs
can I set that?

I guess you are using default settings, you can change it to manual setting and customize in the way you want.

not sure what you mean, I have looked through the options offered and can see no way to change the default behaviour- which only lets you choose which drive to search -
